Every Morning

Every school morning Richie comes and gets in bed with me at about 6:45. Its pretty cool, I get to really love on him, and most of all I get to see his "Bed Head" which is always pretty comical I must say. Its almost like a flashing Neon sign that says look at me, look at me.

I am so lucky to have the family that I do, who I know loves me without a doubt, and even in spite of me. With valentine's approaching I can remember mustering up the courage to ask Jules out for a date. I got this little Fred Flintstone valentine which said Yabba Dabba Do, I like you. And I figured if it didn't go over well, I'd at least play it off a little. But if she really dug me, then hey I am good. But she didn't show up at BSF so that I could give her the Valentine, so I had to wait another week. And after nearly 15 years of marriage, I guess I did the right thing.

Wow, how time flies.

Time Flies

Wow, its been nearly two months since my last post, just busy and almost overwhelmed by all of the complexities of life. Richie is really growing up and coming into his own. He will glad tell you that he is now 5 and half. We just got him a big boy bike and he is really getting into riding it. Looks he and daddy will be getting more exercise with it.

Today was a Christmas Party at Richie's school. It was pretty cool. He made an ornament, and a Christmas tree. He is loving school. He so enjoys it.

From now until Christmas, almost every hour of our life is scheduled. I am looking forward to after Christmas when we can just do nothing for a bit.

I Saw God Today

Ol' George can sure pick em. I just can't get this song out of my head. Listen to it all the time, but think about it even more. One of the things that I struggle with is why more people don't get this. How can anyone not at least wonder if there is a God, when they have a child? Its miraculous, there is no way it just happened by accident. How can anyone not cherish the great gift that they have been given? It just goes to show how bad our sinful nature is.

For me, when Richie was born, there was no doubt that I saw God that day, and I still do everyday. I know that my relationship forever changed with God when Richie was born, and now I have a little glimpse as to how God feels about me as my heavenly father.

Wildlife Expo

Last weekend Richie, Tripp, Austyn and I all went to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo. We had a pretty cool time, but we all wished it could have lasted longer. Above is a pic of Richie surfing, unfortunately non of the other pictures turned out.

Richie the Worship Leader or Rock Star

I've always been amazed at how well Richie can sing for a 5 year old. He easily learns lyrics, and can hold his pitch very well without having much formal training. In music this week they made their own guitars, and then Richie came home and made his own. It was a six string hollow body box guitar. Now one day maybe Richie will have his own Hollow-Body Epiphone, but for now it is his box guitar. I taught him how to pluck and strum.

Here is a bit of Richie's personality shining through

Sorry no posts

My computer has been down for over a week. So I haven't been able to post any pictures or comment about Richie. Monday I got to have lunch with him, and fell down in the cafeteria when I slid on water. Yesterday Richie told he had a new girl friend, her name is Molly.

First Day News Update

Well we go to our on the scene report Julia, who has just informed us that Richie ate most of his lunch and even took a bite of his carrot. He ate most of his steak fingers and ate part of his apple. Richie is on his way to a good day. Julia is soooo proud of him, and she is glad that he is eating the food in the cafeteria.

Today is the Day

Wow, I feel a little older today. Richie is now in elementary school in Mrs. Watkins class as we speak. Its just a little weird. He was so excited today, and he was just loving his class. I so hope he really enjoys it and gets to learn as much as he can stand.

Momma and daddy are taking in stride so far. I really like his school, and so many other folks from Church are there it makes it feel so much easier.

Here are some pictures for Richie's first day experience.

Here is Richie with his teacher Mrs. Watkins

And....here is Richie after we left him for a little bit. I think he is gonna like it.

Today momma is going have lunch with Richie of which I know he will enjoy. Although I have been looking forward to this for a while, it is still kinda shocking, really.
